"Not That Far Away" was originally released, last year, under the band name bdRm, but upon reviving their old moniker, stillifegaijin, Jeremy and Alec have decided that this track makes more sense as stillifegaijin. This song was actually the first sign that the duo was returning to, and modernizing, previous methods and ideas they had for making music and art. More on that to come...

What is this? Some sorta horror-gaze electronica?

"Not That Far Away" was written in a cabin near Mt Hood, Oregon and was inspired by being away from home for the first time during the pandemic, the darkness of the forest, and horror soundtracks. When We Are Parasols were invited to compose the soundtrack for the horror-fiction podcast, Outgrowth, parts of "Not That Far Away" were borrowed and used as the basis for the main theme of the soundtrack. Once the podcast and soundtrack album were released Alec and I decided to finish and release "Not That Far Away" as a single.
